I had a friend request that I make some wine toppers for her, so these were created~! They are small projects that make a cute touch to wine bottles, or other places you may decide to place them. I welcome creativity! :) As such, I wanted to give the pattern for free for others to enjoy. Doing a quick internet search, there are only knitted pumpkin wine toppers.. so here is the crocheted one! Abbreviations;
Ch - Chain Dc - Double Crochet Sc - Single Crochet hdc - Half double crochet Materials: Worsted Weight yarn in colors desired (I recommend RedHeart or similar) G Hook Pumpkin: Ch 8 Dc in 2nd chain from hook, and across, ch2 and turn (7) Dc across in front loop only, ch 2 and turn (7) Dc across in back loop only, ch 2 and turn (7) >> repeat front loop only and back loop only rows until there are 10 rows -- not including first chain 8 row<< Ch 1, turn. Match up the first row against finishing row; the side with ridges should be on the outside. Sc the two rows together. Sc around the opening, then Finish off. Weave in ends. Take a separate piece of yarn and sew the top of the "hat" together. Weave in ends. Stem: 5 sc in magic ring sc around sc around sc around sc around Fasten off with a tail for sewing. Attach to the top of the "pumpkin" piece. Optionally; Add a leaf or crocheted vine to the top for decoration. Leaf: Ch 4 hdc in 2nd chain from hook, dc, hdc Fasten off and attach. I folded the bottom of the pumpkin to make it look more hat like, however you may leave it without doing so if you wish :)
